Born in Vancouver, Noel Thorpe started his CFL coaching career as an assistant coach with Montreal from 2002-2007. From Montreal, Thrope moved to Edmonton for 3 season from 2008-10. Thorpe spent two seasons (2011-12) as an assistant coach under Danny Maciocia at the University of Montreal. In November, 2012, Thorpe was named the defensive coordinator for the Montreal Alouettes after they fired Jeff Reinebold.
