Turk Schonert was a quarterback at Stanford and played eight seasons in the NFL(1981-88), mainly as a backup quarterback for Cincinnati and Atlanta. Following his playing days, Schonert began a career in coaching. Schonert served as an assistant coach with Buffalo, Tampa Bay, New York Giants, and Carolina. Schonert became the Bills's offensive coordinator in 2006. Turk Schonert joined the Montreal Alouettes as the receivers coach partway through the 2014 season and helped to turn the Al' season around. The Als made it into the playoffs and got as far as the East division final before losing to Hamilton.
