While playing at Southern Connecticut Kevin Gilbride was converted from quarterback to tight end. Gilbride graduted in 1974 andstarfted his coaching career that same yea at Idaho State. After stints at Tufts University and International College, Gilbride returned to his Alma Matter and became the the head coach at Souther Connecticut in 1980. After five seasons with the Owls, Gilbride joined the Ottawa Rough Riders as an assistant coach for receivers and quarterbacks in 1985. Gilbride spent two seasons with Ottawa and then joined the Alouettes for the 1987 season. Unfortunately, the Alouettes folded just before the start of the 1987 regular season. |
