CALGARY (13-6) 24, HAMILTON (13-5-1) 22 - Calgary K Mark McLoughlin cracked a 35-yard FG on the final play of the game to give the Stampeders a thrilling Grey Cup victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The winning kick came after Stamps quarterback Jeff Garcia, responding to a Hamilton touchdown at 12:55 of the fourth quarter, marched Calgary down field in the final two minutes of the game. It was the Stamps second victory in four Grey Cup appearances since 1991 and leaves them well positioned to claim bragging rights as the CFL's team of the '90s. For the Ticats, the last-second heartbreak ended a Cinderella season in which they rebounded from a 2-16 record in 1997 to advance to their first Grey Cup since 1989.
