redeemed
himself with a 40-yard FG on the last play of the game. Moments
earlier, he missed a 32-yard effort. Calgary never held the lead in the
game.

TORONTO ARGONAUTS (16-3) 43,
EDMONTON ESKIMOS (13-7) 37 - The
temperature at game time was minus ten degrees, with gusty winds and
heavy snow. Tractors had to remove snow prior to the game and at
halftime. Toronto's 27 points in the second quarter tied a Grey Cup
record. Edmonton scored all the points in the first quarter on a safety
and a 64-yard TD pass from Danny McManus to Eddie Brown. Toronto's
Adrion Smith iced the win, returning a Danny McManus interception 49
yards for a TD with 1:22 to go. McManus hit Marc Tolbert with a
seven-yard touchdown pass at 14:51 to round out the scoring at 43-37.
An onside kick attempt was recovered by Toronto to end any Edmonton
comeback threat. Henry "Gizmo" Williams returned a kickoff 91 yards for
a TD, a Grey Cup record at the time.
