Hamilton 24, TORONTO 15 (32527) - RB Derrick McAdoo rushed for 86 yards and caught six passes for 111 yards.With 12 minutes to go, he scored on a 36-yard pass from Mike Kerrigan to put the Ti-Cats ahead for good.
SASKATCHEWAN 32, Calgary 29 (21595) - The Roughriders roared back with 26 points in the fourth quarter, 19 in the final two minutes, with K Dave Ridgway booting a 42-yard FG with no time left on the clock for the win.

EDMONTON 20, Brit Col 15 (30041) - Jerry Kauric booted six FGs and the highly-publicized Edmonton defence passed its first test in Edmonton's 11th straight season-opening victory at home.

WINNIPEG 29, Ottawa 24 (22332) - Bombers QB Sean Salisbury directed a game-winning drive midway through the fourth, tossing a 16-yard TD to Buster Rhymes, as the Riders revealed they were $1.975 million in debt.

Toronto 21, OTTAWA 17 (18818) - Despite leading 17-15 as late as
12:51 of the fourth quarter, Ottawa lost their home opener when Lance Chomyc kicked two FGs, one with 12 second left to ice the win.
THURSDAY JULY 20
HAMILTON 28, Winnipeg 22 (15925) - The sputtering Hamilton offence blistered the Winnipeg defence for 402 yards, dwarfing the Winnipeg total of 229. It was the second straight game Hamilton passed the 400-yard level.

Calgary 28, BRIT COL 26 (27342) - The Lions, who had not lost their first three games since 1975, broke their old record of 19 penalties in a game by drawing 20 penalties for 123 yards.

TORONTO 21, Edmonton 17 (34840) - Rodney Harding returned an interception 16 yards for a second-quarter TD and Toronto survived a third-quarter scare as Edmonton erased a 16-0 halftime Argos lead.

Saskatchewan 29, WINNIPEG 27 (25612) - Trailing 29-27, Bombers' CB Less Browne picked off a Tom Burgess pass and ran it back to the Roughriders 46-yard. The defence sacked QB Sean Salisbury twice.
THURSDAY AUGUST 3
EDMONTON 22, Toronto 21 (28238) - Former Argo WR Craig Ellis caught two TD passes in the first half to lead the Eskimos. Lance Chomyc had a chance to win the game, but missed a 42-yard FG attempt with 53 seconds left.
FRIDAY AUGUST 4
HAMILTON 44, Brit Col 38 (17443) - Derrick McAdoo's 1-yard TD run with 7:29 left capped a 10-point outburst in the fourth for the Ti-Cats. Lions QB Matt Dunigan was 23-for-40 for 410 yards despite being sacked eight times.

SASKATCHEWAN 58, Ottawa 22 (22194) - Saskatchewan ran up a 21-0 score in the first quarter and never looked back. Ray Elgaard's second TD gave him 329 receptions, the most ever by a Saskatchewan player.

TORONTO 20, Winnipeg 12 (34548) - Argos RB Gill Fenerty ran through the Winnipeg defence for 152 yards. He scored both Toronto TDs, giving him seven for the season, every offensive TD the Argos have produced so far..
CALGARY 40, Hamilton 8 (19031) - QB Danny Barrett passed for two TDs and ran for another as the Stampeders parlayed a 17-point second quarter into a third straight win and Hamilton's first loss.

WINNIPEG 27, Calgary 24 (23582) - Under a lunar eclipse, the best performance of Sean Salisbury's season, 27 completions in 39 attempts for 355 yards, carried the Bombers to their third win.

EDMONTON 39, Ottawa 4 (21413) - Edmonton QB Tracy Ham threw TD passes to Keith Wright, Craig Ellis and running back Reggie Taylor. Ham also ran for a touchdown, as did Taylor.

HAMILTON 46, Saskatchewan 40 (19336) - Hamilton QB Mike Kerrigan and Saskatchewan's Tom Burgess each throw five TD passes. Burgess threw for 420 yards. Kerrigan was 16 of 30 for 338 yards.

TORONTO 22, Ottawa 17 (33060) - Paul Masotti caught an eight-yard TD

Saskatchewan 29, TORONTO 24 (35281) - Kent Austin, who started the opener then sat behind Tom Burgess for nine games, came in in relief and lead a 4th-quarter rally that resulted in 19 points and the win.

OTTAWA 40, Hamilton 23 (16942) - Ottawa QB Damon Allen threw 13 passes for 259 yards and two TDs. Hamilton QB Mike Kerrigan threw 20 passes for 342 yards but only passed for one TD and was intercepted twice.
WINNIPEG 53, British Col 34 (26689) - Bomber QB Sean Salisbury hit on 24 of 46 passes for 454 yards, surpassing the previous team record of 450. The six TD passes was one short of Jim Van Pelt's team record set in 1959.

Winnipeg 24, BRIT COL 20 (OT) (49093) - The Bombers rallied on a 44-yard TD catch by James Murphy with just 24 seconds remaining. The OT was set up by a 34-yard FG by Winnipeg's Trevor Kennerd with five seconds to go.

HAMILTON 52, Ottawa 34 (14327) - Hamilton erased a 7-0 deficit with 24 points in the second quarter en route to moving into a first-place tie with Winnipeg in the East. The Rough Riders lost for the 10th time in 11 games.
SASKATCHEWAN 48, Edmonton 35 (24776) - Riders QB Kent Austin threw three TDs and ran for one to snap a 7-game win streak for the Esk. The Riders led 27-11 at the half, but watched Edmonton score 24 straight points.

Hamilton 32, OTTAWA 22 (14416) - The Tiger-Cats are headed for the division final. The Rough Riders lost another game and are headed back to the drawing board. The Tiger-Cats clinched first place in the East.
Edmonton 34, WINNIPEG 11 (23590) - By winning for the 14th time, the Eskimos became the seventh CFL team to achieve that victory total in one season. The Eskimos have won 114 times in the decade, losing 50 times.
Calgary 23, SASKATCHEWAN 17 (25200) - Embarrassed the last time they faced Riders QB Kent Austin, the Stampeders shut him down and sacked Austin and Tom Burgess a total of nine times and forced eight turnovers.

Ottawa 18, WINNIPEG 14 (20541) - The Rough Riders upset the Bombers for just their third win. But the Riders set the record for most points allowed in a season, 620, breaking the old mark of 618 they allowed last year.

BRIT COL 46, Calgary 21 (23452) - Just moments after the Lions upset the
Stampeders, owner Murray Pezim,who bought the team this fall, and coach Joe Galat exchanged harsh words near the dressing rooms.

EDMONTON 49, Saskatchewan 17 (27472) - QB Tracy Ham threw four TD passes and the Eskimos wrapped up the CFL's most successful season ever, setting records with 7,456 yards in total offence and 643 points.
OTTAWA 24, Winnipeg 10 (13757) - The Winnipeg loss avoided a history-making decision. Team executives were prepared to ask CFL chairman Roy McMurtry to relocate their playoff game to Toronto due to poor ticket sales.

Sun Nov 12 - Winnipeg 30, TORONTO 7 (22748) - Making his second start as a Bomber, QB Lee Saltz methodically directed his team. He completed 19 of 27 passes for 178 yards and two TDs. He ran for 79 yards on eight carries, including 54 on three rushes in a 100-yard, second-quarter march.
Sun Nov 12 - Saskatchewan 33, CALGARY 26 (16286) - With less than two minutes to go, Brian Walling ran 50 yards to stonewall a comeback by the
Stampeders, who trailed 23-9 at halftime. The Roughriders had gainedthe momentum with a 20-point second quarter.

Sun Nov 19 - HAMILTON 14, Winnipeg 11 (20389) - The Hamilton front four sacked Bomber QB Lee Saltz seven times. The Bombers were inside Hamilton's 40-yard line four times in the game's last seven minutes, but failed to punch in the winning score.
Sun Nov 19 - Saskatchewan 33, EDMONTON 21 (35112) - The Roughriders advanced to their first Grey Cup game since 1976 with the upset. QB Tom Burgess came off the bench to throw a pair of third-quarter TDs asthe Roughriders solved the CFL's No. 1 defense.

1989 GREY CUP GAME AT TORONTO (Sunday, November 26 - 54088)
SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS 43, HAMILTON TIGER-CATS 40 - Hamilton QB Mike Kerrigan marched his team down the field and managed to eat up the clock and tie the game at 40-40, when he threw a pass to Tony Champion, who ended up making an incredible acrobatic catch with under a minute left.  Riders QB Kent Austin completed three passes for 48 yards, to position his team for the winning FG at Hamilton's 26-yard line with nine seconds remaining. After a Tiger-Cat time-out, Dave Ridgway drilled 'The Kick' through the uprights to give Saskatchewan its first Grey Cup in 23 years.
