Morris Zubkewych

Morris Zubkewyche was a territorial exemption of the Toronto Argonauts in 1974. Zubkewych played three seaons* with the Argonauts in 1974, 176 and 1978.

*The press release by the Argos below incorrectly says Zubkewych only playd two seasons.

The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of former offensive lineman Morris Zubkewych. Zubkewych played two seasons with the Argos in 1974 and 1978, starting at centre in 18 regular season games.

A graduate of Simon Fraser University, Zubkewych was drafted by the Argos in the second round of the 1974 CFL Canadian Draft as a defensive tackle before making the transition to the offensive side of the trenches.

ZUBKEWYCH, Dr. Morris - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Morris on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the age of 58. Beloved husband of Valda. Much loved father of Peter and Alexander (Atefeh). Loving son of Kateryna and the late Paul Zubkewych. He will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter 'Yorke' Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of Jane subway, Toronto on Friday from 4-9 p.m. Panachyda at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 3 o'clock. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations to the World Wildlife Federation would be appreciated by the family.
