Zendejas was a placekicker for the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagels of the NFL from 1987 to 1989. He signed as a free agent with the expansion Birmingham Barracudas in March of 1995. After the folding of the U.S. based teams, Zendejas was selected in the eighthround of the dispersal draft by Montreal, but never played for them.
