Preston Young

Preston Young was a territorial exemption of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1977 and joined the Riders in 1978, recording one interception in his rookier season. After the 78 season, Young was traded to Toronto for LB Blain Lamoreaux. Young had two very good seasons in Toronto, picking off 5 passes in 1979 and 6 more in 1980. Despite that, Young was traded prior to the 81 season to Hamilton for the Tiger-Cats first round pick in the 1981 college draft who turned out to be DL Ron Engleson. Young played one season in Hamilton, picking off another 4 intercetions and becoming a free agent after the season. Young signed with Montreal and played 3+ seasons for the Als from 1982 through September, 1985 when Montreal traded him to Toronto for LB Mike Emery. Young finished with 26 career interceptions and 9 fumble recoveries.
