Billy Woods played for North Texas State* and joined the Montreal Alouettes as a defensive back in 1968. Woods ran into trouble with the Alouettes on a road trip to Saskatchewan in early October. Woods was wearing some beads that violated the team dress code while travelling, and declined to remove them when approachd by coach O.K. Dalton. After the game in Regina, Woods was waived by the Alouettes. Woods was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 16th round of the 1969 draft.
