Jesse (J.r.) Williams was born in Corcoran, California where he is a member of their sports hall of fame. After playing college football at Bakersfield Junior College and Fresno State, Williams went on to play t wo season as a linebacker with the B.C. Lions (then Vancouver Lions). Williams played for the Lions in 1964 and 1965 and was part of the Lion's Grey Cup team, the first in franchise history, in 1964.

J.R. Williams passed away on September 17, 2015.
