Whiting played with the Tampa Bay Cuccaneer of the NFL in 1992 and 1993 before signing with the expansion Los Vegas Posse in 1994. After the Posse folde, Whiting, was selected in the second round (22nd overall) by Edmonton in the dispersal draft.
