After serving as abackup for a couple of seasons, Brandon Whitaker got the chance to be the starting tailback for the Alouettes in 2011.

The Montreal Alouettes announced on Monday that running back Brandon Whitaker was placed on the nine-game injured list for precautionary reasons prior to yesterday's game due to a hamstring injury. 

Every CFL team has two opportunities per season to remove a player from the nine-game injured list, and doing so remains an option for the Alouettes and Whitaker, depending on his recovery process.
