Walker signed as a fre agent with the New Orleans Saints of the NFL in 1982, but was released before the season stgarted. He then had a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs. Walker signed with Calgary as a free agent in 1985 and racked up 15 sacks in two seasons, playing 3 games with Saskatchewan in 1986.
