Walker joined Montreal in 1980 and along with David Green formed a strong 1-2 running punch with Green finishing second in the East in rushing, and Walker finishing third with 692 yards in 13 games. In 1981, Walker only plkayed 9 games and was lost in the shuffle of Montreal's high priced signings of Ferregamo, Scott and Johnson while, David Overstreet took over as the #1 running back.
