Rocky Uguccioni was born in New London, CT and attended Murray State. Uguccioni served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1941 to 1943. Uguccioni played for the Brooklyn Tigers of the NFL in 1944, and the Fleet City Naval team in 1945. Ugocciani then spent two years playing in Canada. In 1947, he was with the Ottawa Trojans of the ORFU and in 1948 with the Hamilton Tigers who had moved to the ORFU from the Big Four / IRFU that season.
