Ken Townsend went to Notre Dame High School in Wilcox, SK, a school better know for producing star hockey players. Townsend went on to play for the Regina Rams junior team and spent one season witgh the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1959. TGownsend would have a tryout with Edmonton in 1961, but did not play any regular season games for the Eskimos.
