Toussaint's senior year was 1980, but he remained at Northwestern in 1981 to complete his education degree. Toussaint signed as a free agent with Calgary in March of 1982 and recorded two interceptions in his rookier year. In 1984, Toussaint appeared in only one game with Calgary and was released by the Stampeders prior to the 1984 season. Toussaint returned to the CFL with Saskatchewan in 1985 and picked up another two interceptions while appearing in six games for the Riders. Saskatchewan released Toussaint in November of 1985 and he was then signed by the Ottawa Rough Riders. Ottawa released Toussaint in June of 1986 before the regular season began. Toussaint returned with Calgary in April of 1987 and played just two games, but did record his fifth career interception.
