Calvin Tiggle played at Georgia Tech and was drafted in the seventh round of the 1991 NFL college draft by the Tampa Bay Cuccaneers. Tiggle was released by Tampa Bay in 1993, and he signed as a free agent with the Toronto Argonauts for the 1994 season. Tiggle had a sensational rookie season in 1994, recording 129 defensive tackles and being named to both the East and CFL All-Star teams. The 129 tackles was a CFL record that stood until 2012 when J.C. sherritt of Edmonton broke it by one.
Tiggle played tWO easons with the Argos (1994-95) before b ecoming a free agent and signing with Hamilton for 1997. Tiggle played from 1996 to 1999 with the Tiger-Cats. Tiggle won his second and third East and CFL All-Stars in 1998 and 1999. A free agent again, Tiggle returned to Toronto in 2000 for two more seasons and won his fourth East All-Star in 2000.
