Elijah Thurmon came to the CFL out of Howard, signing as a free agent with Saskatchewan for the 2004 season. Previous to that, Thurmon had spent a year each with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Oakland Raiders of the NFL, though he didn't appear in any regular season games. Thurmon was picked up the the Chicago Bears, who allocated him to the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe. Thurmon had a strong rookie season with the Riders in 2004, collecting 50 catches for 620 yards. 2005 was even better for Thurmon as he captured a West All-Star on the basis of 88 catches for 1048 yards. Thurmon became a free agent after 2005 and signed with Calgary where his numbers fell off a bit to 57 catches for 725 yards. Thurmon signed as a free agent with Montreal for the 2007 season and bounced back with 67 catches and just missing the thousand yard mark with 926 yards. Thurmon started the 2008 season with Montreal, but was injured in the pre-season and did not get into a regular season game before being released.
