Jesse Thomas was a star four sport athlete at Central High School in Michigan, lettering in baseball, basketball, football and track and field. Thomas went on to play college ball at Michigan State and started his professional football career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1954. Thomas returned to the States in 1955 and played three seasons as a defensive back with the Baltimore Colts (1955-57). Thomas finished his playing career with one season for the Los Angelas Chargers of the newlyh formed AFL in 1960. Following his playing career, Thomas had a coaching career that lasted four decades with Morgan State, including a sting as head coach Jesse Thomas passed away on May 16, 2012.
