Harry Skipper payed college football at South Carolina and signed with the Montreal Alouettes in February, 1983. Skipper broke in with a bang, recording ten interceptions and winning both East and CFL All-Star selections. Skipper followed that up with another 8 interceptions in his second season in 1984 and winning his second East and CFL All-Star selections. Skipper was also named the Outstanding Defensive Player in the East that year. Skipper had "only" seven interceptions in his third season in 1985 which apparently wasn't good enough for any All-Star selections. Skipper became a free agent after 1985 and signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders where he would play another four seasons from 1986-1989. I his tenure in Saskatchewan, Skipper won a West All-Star in 1987 and won a Grey Cup in 1989. Skipper finished with a career total of 47 interceptions and an unusually high total of yards on interception returns of 1067. Skipper had 7 career touchdowns, five on interceptions and adding two more on fumble returns. Skipper is also one of the all time leaders in blocked kicks with six blocked punts in his seven year career.
Defensive tackles were first officially tracked in 1987
