David Shaw

David Shaw was an outstanding defensive back who played 12 years in the CFL with Hamilton and Winnipeg.  Shaw won seven division All-Star awards (1976, 1980, 1981 and 1982 in the East with Hamilton, and 1983, 1984 and 1985 in the West with Winnipeg) and five CFL All-Stars (1976, 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1984).  Shaw had a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL and then signed as a free agent with the Hamilton in July of 1975.  Shaw played eight seasons (1975-1982) with Hamilton before being traded to Winnipeg for LB Leo Ezerins and future considerations.  Shaw had 36 career interceptions with a seasonal high of 7 in 1985, and ran three of them back for touchdowns, one in each of his final three years.  Besides playing defense, Shaw was also used on kickoff and punt returns.  Shaw had a 102 yard punt return for a touchdown in 1980 and a 101 yard punt return in 1981.
