Scott Schultz was borni in Moose Jaw, jsut down the road from Regina and after playing college ball at North Dakota, was drafted first overall in the 2001 CFL College Draft by Saskatchewan. Schultz dressed in 8 games in that rookie season and then signed as a free agent with the PIttsburgh Steelers of the NFL. Schultz returned to the Riders in September of 2002 and soon established himself as one of the top defensive tackles in the leage and one of the most popular Roughriders with the fans. Shultz palayed nine seasons for the Riders, retiring partway through 2009 to take up a business opportunity in the insurance field. Schultz had 35 career quarterback sacks, with a high of 9 coming in 2005. That was the year Schultz was named both a West and CFL All-Star. Schultz was also a big part of the Saskatchewan team that won the Grey Cup in 2007.
