Rubley was a ninth round drft pick of the Los Angelas Rams of the NFL in 1992. Rubley was released by the Rams in 1995 and has tryouts with the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos. Rubley moved on to the WLAF and the Rhein Fire where he was the league MVP in 1996. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Rubley in February of 1998. Rubley completed 58.6% of his passes in his rookie season, but threw too many interceptions compared to touchdowns and was released in October. Hamilton signed Rubley as a free agent and dressed in two games with them as well as the playoffs and the 1998 Grey Cup. Hamilton released Mobley in November, 1998.
