Roy was a fourth round draft pick (23rd overall) in the 1998 college draft. Roy appeared in nine games in his rookie season with Winnipeg in 1998, but rwas released in June of 1999. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Roy in January of 2000, but he did not play games for them.
