Mike Ringer was born in St. Louis and played college football at Oklahoma. Ringer started at quarterbackfor the Sconers, became a co-captain of the team and in 1965 was an Academic All-American Ringer was drafted both by the AFL (Denver in the 15th round) and by his hometown St. Louis Carinals (10th round) in 1966. Ringer came North to play six games as abackup quarterback and defensive back for the Saskatchewan Rughriders in 1966. Ringer returned to school after his football playing days ended to get a law degree at Oklahoma and had a long and distinguished career as an assistant district attorney.
