Pete Ribbins was a receiver / defensive back out of the University of Ottawa. Ribbins played seven seasons in the CFL, mostly with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Ribbins saw actions as a receiver mainly early in his career. He had 10 catches in his rookie season for Winnipeg in 1971, and only another 11 in total for the rest of his career. Ribbin's best season had to be 1972 when he recorded 9 interceptions, including 4 in one game, to lead the West. Oddly enough, that didn't produce an All-Star selection as yiu might have expected. Ribbins started 1973 with the Bombers, but was traded to Hamilton early in October for center / linebacker John Bonk. Ribbins returned to Winnipeg in 1974 to play three more seasons for the Blue and Gold, but injuries limited him to just 3 games each in 1974 and 1975. Ribbins joined the Edmonton Eskimos for one final season in 1977. Following his retirement from football, Ribbins moved to the Cayman Islands where he was president of tghe Caymen Islands Water Company. Pete Ribbins passed away on December 12, 2010.
