Doug Reid attended UBC where was an All-Star in 1949. Reid signed with the Calgary Stampeders for the 1950 season and played two seasons (1950 and 1951) with the Stamps*. After not playing n 1952 and 1953, Reid returned to his native Vancouver in 1954 when the Vancouver Lions were formed. Reid played two years for the Stampeders as a halback and kick returner. * The Calgary all-time roster lists Reid only for 1950, but he shows up in at least one newspaper account of a game in 1951.
