Reeves had a short CFL career that lasted only five years, but it was a highly succesful five years.  Reeves joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1983, rushing for 896 yards in only 9 games, winning the top rookie honour in the west and runner-up for the CFL,  Reaves was also named to the West All-Star team in his rookie season.  Reaves showed no sign of a sophmore jinx in 1984 as he rambled for 1733 yards on the ground and caught 40 passes for another 407 yards.  That performance earned Reeves the Oustanding Player award in the CFL and All-Canadian status.  It would be hard to maintain that pace every year, but Reeves had a more than respectable 1326 yards rushing in 1985 to win his second All-Canadian award.  Injuries limited Reeves to only 6 games in 1986, but he still ran for 496 yards.  In his final season in the CFL, Reeves rebounded to pick up 1471 yards and his third All-Canadian All-Star award.  In just 5 years, Reeves piled up a total of 5924 yards or nearly an average of 1200 yards per season and two of those were part seasons.  Unfortunately for Bomber fans, and CFL fans in general, Reaves left the CFL after 1987 to try his luckin the NFL.  Reaves played only three games in the NFL in 1989 with Miami and Washington.
