Racette was a fourth round drft pick of the Toronto Argos in 1980 and played for them for two seasons (1980-81) before being released. BC signed Racette in August of 1981 and he played t wo seasons for the Lions (1982-83). 1983 was Racettes best season as he recorded 6 QB sacks. Racette returned to his home province in 1984 when the Lions traded him to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for OT Bryan Illerburn, but he played only one game for the Riders before being dealt to Winnipeg for OL Peter Vander Bos.
