John Pyeatt played three years for the Calgary Stampeders from 1956 to 1958 as an offensive end and a defensive back.  In 1956, Pyeattt had 25 catches, which while good enough only for tenth place in the West, was the highest total among Stampeder receivers that year.  In 1957, Pyeatt was used more on defense and had only 7 catches, but 3 of those were for touchdowns.  Pyeatt doesn't show up in the 1958 statistics.  After leaving Calgary, Pyeattt spent two years in the newly founded AFL (1960-61) and recorded 4 interceptions in 1960.
