From Boston College, Quinton Porter signed as a free agent with Hamilton prior to the 2008 season. Porter performed wll in limited plaing time (177 pass attempts) and seemed to be the quarterback of the future for the struggling Tiger-Cats. Porter saw more action in 2009 with 261 pass attempts, but never got settled into the #1 job as Hamilton kept yanking him out of starting job whenever he faltered. In the next two seasons (2010-2011), Porter was pretty much exiled to be the backup behind Kevin Glenn and being used mainly on short yardage plays as indicated by his nine rushing touchdowns in 2011. In 2012, Hamilton traded Glenn to Calgary for Henry Burris and Porter did little but sit on the bench with only one pass attempt and just 9 carries in short yardage situations. Following the end of the 2012 season, the Tiger-Cats released Porter who was promptly signed by the Montreal Alouettes. In somewhat of a surprise move, the Alouettes released Porter after the final exhibition game on June 21, 2013. Porter Signed by Alouettes - January, 2013 "Quinton has been on my radar screen for sometime," said Popp. "We feel his potential can reach great heights and we look forward in getting him into the Alouettes system." The Portland, ME native has shown his versatility over the years, rushing for 919 career yards and 15 touchdowns on 169 carries. The 30-year-old also threw for over 1,000 yards in his first two CFL seasons while sporting a completion rate of over 60 per cent on three separate occasions.
