Peter Petcoff was born in Hamilton and played junior ball with the Tiger-Cats junior team. After initially signing with the senior Tiger-Cats, Petcoff ended up playing 1953 out West with the Calgary Stampeders. A lineman, Petcoff played guard on offence and end on defence. Petcoff played with the Hamilton Panther intermediate team in 1954 and then joined the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1955. Note: The all-time roster in the Hamilton media guides have listed Petcoff as playing for the Tiger-Cats in 1952 and 1953, but he does not appear to have dressed for any games for Hamilton in those two seasons. Fanbase.com (see link below) mirors this information. The Canadian Pro Football Encyclopedia by Tod Maher and Bob Gill does not list Petcoff with Hamilton for those seasons.
