From the University of Pennsylvania, Carl Perina was the quarterback of the Montreal Winged Wheelers in 1932. Perina was one of the first imports in the Big Four / IRFU, though the term and limitations on number of imports didn't start until after Winnipeg won he Grey Cup in 1935. Perina was the Big Four / IRFU All-Star quarterback in 1933 and was also named to the All-East team selected from players in the IRFU, ORFU and universities in the East.
