Greg Palamountain was a multi-sport standout at the University of California during the early-to-mid 1960s. In addition to playing halfback for the Golden Bears, was also a member of the track team. After his days in Berkeley, he signed with the Calgary Stampeders and saw action at defensive back in one game in 1966. He joined the United States Army and became a helicopter pilot from 1967 to 1970, serving in the US and Korea. Following his army service, he opened an insurance business in the Bay Area.Palamountain passed away on July 21, 2003 at the age of 59 after a long battle with cancer.
