After being an All-American at tackle with Minnesota in college, Urban Odson was a ninth round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers in 1942. Odson served in the Navy during World War II and played football at the Great Lakes Navel Training Acadamy where he was named to an All-Services team at tackle. Odson played four seasons with the Packers before coming North to play in 1950 with the Montreal Alouettes. Urban Odson is a member of the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame.
