Brian Nugent was a first round pick (ninth overall) by Calgary in the 2002 CFL College Draft. Nugent played almost exclusively on special teams for the Stampeders in 2002, recording 15 special teams tackles. Nugent was released by the Stamps in June of 2003. Nugent then spent two years (2003-04) in Montreal, again working mainly on special teams. Nugent was a wide receiver, but didn't have a pass reception in his three CFL seasons.
