Born in Atlanta, big Tony Norman, all six foot five of him, played for Iowa State before signing as a free agent with Winnipeg part way through the 1980 CFL season. Norman would remain with the bombers for seven years (1980-86), winning three West All-Stars at defensivie end (1983, 1984 and 1985). Norman recorded a total of 59 quarterback sacks (there were no sack stats kept in 1980) with a career high of 14.5 recorded in 1984. Norman went on to play two games for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL in 1987.
