Don Narcisse

Don "Narco" Narcisse was one of the most popular Roughrider receivers of all time.  He joined the Green a& White in September of 1987 and played 13 seasons for Saskatchewan before his release in March of 2000.  Narcisse played only 8 games in his rookie season as he joined the Riders late in the season and his 25 receptions were good if not outstanding.  In 1988, injuries limited Narcisse to 10 games and only 21 catches, but his career took a definite upswing in 1989. For the next 11 seasons, Narcisse did not miss a single game and for 8 of those seasons, he caught over a 1000 yards receiving.  1989 makred the first of seven straight 1000+ seasons, and while he would eclipse his 81 catches of that year, his 1419 yards would t urn out to be a career high.  Narcisse was named to both the West and CFL All-Star teams in 1989, and the Riders would go on to win only their second Grey Cup.  Narcissed added another four Western All-Star honours and 3 more All-Canadian selections (1990, 1995 and 1998) during his career.  While he lost a bit of speed during the latter part of his career, Narcisse became a smarter receiver, hiting a career high of 123 receptions in 1995 and 95 in his last All-Star year in 1998.
