Warren Moon played six years for Edmonton from 1978 to 1984 and the Eskimos won the Grey Cup in five of those seasons (1978-83). Moon apprenticed under the grizzled Tom Wilkinson and then took oer as the #1 QB, and improved his passing stats in each of his six years. Moon's yards passing went from 1112 to 2382 to 3127 to 3959 to 5000 to 5648. Moon's best season in terms of awards had to be his final season in the CFL in 1983, when he won Western and All-Canadian All-Star honours as well as winning the Oustanding Player Award. Some of Moon's earlier season might have been better statistically. In 1983, Moon completed 57.2% of his passes, but completed 59.2% in 1982 and a career high 62.7% in 1981. In terms of touchdowns, Moon's best season was 1982 when he tossed 36 TD passes compared to only 16 interceptions. After the 1983 season, Moon joined the Houston Oilers of the NFL, going on to have a highly successfull career in the NFL from 1984 to 2000 with 49,329 yards passing and a 58.4% completion percentage..Moon was elected to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2001.
