George Momberg had a short football career, but went on to a long and highly successful pro wrestling career. Momberg played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats* and hte London Lords of the ORFU in 1957 and then had a stint with the Sarnia Golden Bears of the ORFU in 1959. Leaving football, Momberg took up wrestling and achieved great success under the name of Killer Karl Krupp, a stereotypical German villain. George Momberg passed away on August 24, 1995. * Momburg is listed on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats all-time roster, but it is not clear if he played any regular season games for Hamilton. One report s said Momberg came to London from Ottawa.
