After playing his college ball at Ohio, Miller was drafted in the 17th round of both the 1962 NFL draft by Washington and the 1962 AFL draft by the New York Titans. Miller played all of 1962 and most of 1963 with Washingon. Miller played one game for Hamilton in 1964, then moved to Winnipeg for 1965 to 1967 where he recorded two interceptions in both 1965 and 1966. In 1968, Miller split his time between Hamilton and Saskatchewan, recording three more interceptions.
