Bill McKenna attended Brandeis University where he was the first All-american in the histgory of the school in any sport. Even today (2012), McKenna still holds many school records including most points in a game and a caeer as well as most career receiving yards. In a time of two way players, McKenna played both offensive and defensive end in University. In Canada, he continued to play offensive end, but was used at defensive back on defence. McKenna was a seventh round draftg pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1955 NFL college draft. McKenna ended up playing six years in Canada, 1956-56, and the 1959-63, all with the Calgary Stampeders.McKenna saw more action on offence in his first four seasons, twice catching 30 or more passes. In his rookie season, McKenna caught a then leaague record 104 yard touchdown bpass quarterback Don Kloseterman. The league record has since been broken, bjut it is still the longest in Stampeder history. Following his football career, McKenna settled in Caligornia where he worked as a geophysist for 35 years with Texaco. Bill McKenna passed away on October 18, 2012.
