Greg Marshall was a seventh round pick out of Oregon Stat by the Baltimore Colts in the 1978 NFL college draft. Marshall came to the CFL and the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1980 and had an outstanding eight year career with the Riders. Marshall won four East All-Stars (1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984) and two CFL All-Stars (1981 and 1983). 1983 was a big year for Marshall, besides the All-Star selections, he was named the Outstandng Defensive Player in the East and for the CFL. Marshall recored 71 carer quarterback sacks (they weren't recorded in his first year in 1980) with a single season high of 16.5 in 1984. Marshall also had 12 fumble recoveries, including one in 1981 that he ran back 54 yards for his only career tuchdown. Greg Marshall returned to the CFL in 1994 as an assistant coach with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. After six years in Saskatchewan, (1994-99), five years in Edmonton (2000-04), one year with Ottawa (2005), three years with Winnipeg (2006-08) and two seasons with Hamilton (2009-2010) all as an assistant coach, Marshall was finally given a chance as a head coach with Saskatchewan in 2011. Unfortunately, Marshall's stin as a head coach was short lived. After going to the Grey Cup in both 2009 and 2010 under Ken Miller, the Riders got off to a horrible start in 2011 under Marshall and he was fired - to be replaced by Ken Miller who had remained with the club as a VP. After a year out of the league, Marshall returned to coaching as the defensive coordinator with Edmonton.
