Machinsky played guard for three seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Machinsky was part of an undefeated Ohio State team in 1954 that won the Rose Bowl and a national title. In his final season in 1956, Machinsky played in the Hula Bowl and the East-West Shirine Bowl All-Star game. Machinsky was drafted in the fourth round of the 1956 NFL college draft by the Washington Redskins, but elected to come North and joining the Toronto Argonauts for one season in 1956. Machinsky played well for the Argos and was named an East All-Star at guard., but the team was not so great and finished out of the playoffs. As was common in that era, Machinsky played both ways and actually recorded an interception on defence. Machinsky then spent two years in the United States Air Fore before returning to Columbus where he went into business. 1Frank Machinsky passed away on Septembe 5, 2014. GP+Interceptions
