Bob MacDonald was a two-way lineman who played guard on offence and end on defence. Born in Winnipeg, MacDonald played his college football at North Dakota State and played one game for Winipeg in 1960. MacDonald joined Saskatchewan in 1961 and was considered a promising young rookie, winning a regular job at defensive end. In training camp in 1962, MacDonald suffered a knee injury that ended his season. MacDonald tried to make a comeback with the Riders in 1963, but was released just prior to the start o the season.
