After playing at San Jose State, Ray Lychak signed initially with the BC Lions. The Lions sold Lychak to the Montreal Alouettes prior to the 1966 season and Lychak would go onto play three seasons in Montreal (1966-68). After one season with Edmonton in 1969, Lychak returned to BC for two seasons (1970-71) and finished his career with two seasons in Winnipeg (1972-73)
