From Bowling Green, Don Lisbon was a third round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers. Lisbon played two seasons for the 49ers (1963-64) with a total of 164 carries for 561 yards. Lisbon joined Montreal in 1966 and rushed for 1007 yards in just 14 games to lead the East in rushing and win an East-All Star. If there was a weakness in Lisbon's game, it was that he also led the East in fumbles with 9. Lisbon got off to a slower start in 1967 with 385 yards in 7 games, but had another 6 fumbles. Lisbon was traded West to join the Edmonto Eskimos. Lisbon finished 1967 with Edmonton and played seven games with the Eskimos in 1968, but was unable to recapture his first seqason success.
