Out of San Diego State, Reggie Lewis was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 1976 NFL draft. Instead of joining San Francisco, Lewis played five years in the CFL from 1977 to 1981. Four and a half of those years were with the Stampeders, and Lewis finished his CFL career with 4 games in Toronto. Lewis won three West Division All-Stars at Defensive End, and three CFL All-Stars in the same seasons. Lewis was a great pass rusher, though that stat were only kept in his final season when he recorded 7.5 quarterback sacks. Following the 1981 season, Lewis finally did go to the NFL, signing with the New Orleans SAints where he played three season. Reggie Lewis passed away on September 19, 2008.
